C&A:
An exquisite guitar chord introduction starts off Pink Slip Blues. It is
then followed by three choruses of Charlie Christian on rhythm guitar before
he is heard playing obbligati behind a
fourth verse (of five) by the
vocalist.

Charles’ intro is quite unique as well as charmingly beautiful. The
characterization of “unique” can also be applied to the obbligato stuff –
it’s a bit low in the mix but, nonetheless, that single-string work is
amazing, the first half in particular. Just as on the other songs in
this later Vocalion session, only one take is recorded.
