C&A:
Four Day Creep kicks off the later session of Ida Cox’s two blues
recording sessions for Vocalion Records on Halloween. The same septet
continues from the morning stint with the significant and welcome exception
that Fletcher Henderson replaces James P. Johnson on piano. Only one take
was recorded.
Charlie Christian is on rhythm guitar most of the way but he does get some
exemplary single-string accompaniment in behind one verse (the fifth, of six
choruses).
