This radio broadcast version of Breakfast Feud was cut back to only nine choruses. The two-chorus clarinet solo was eliminated and the guitar and tenor sax solos each lost one chorus. Perhaps to compensate for the lack of solo space, Charlie Christian begins his solo three whole beats early and gets in almost nine bars. It’s a great start but one can’t develop much of a presentation with the scant time allotted. Trumpet and piano get two full choruses each with the little-known Milt Raskin (pianist with Dorsey and Krupa bands around that time) putting forth a good showing.
